Hit and Run Injures Pregnant Woman in St. Paul

The St. Paul Police have arrested 2 men in connection with an alleged hit and run incident that took place late Wednesday night near Victoria Street and Edmund Avenue, St. Paul. The 2 men arrested appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

One of the men was driving an SUV that ran a stop sign and t-boned a vehicle with four people inside, including a 7 year-old boy and a pregnant woman. According to Sgt. Paul Schnell, the police are still investigating which of the men was driving at the time of the accident.

All four people in the car were taken to Regions Hospital where the seriously injured 23 year-old pregnant woman delivered a baby girl, by Caesarian section. The infant was taken to Children’s Hospital. The mother is expected to survive her injuries.
