Drunk Driver of Humvee Crashes, Kills Teen

car-crash-4 Drunk Driver of Humvee Crashes, Kills TeenA 19 year-old male was killed when a Humvee, driven by a drunk driver, crossed into his lane and hit him head-on, near Opole, Minnesota, in Stearns County. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision happened on Sunday night, about 10:30 p.m., on County Road 17. The driver of the Humvee, a 29 year-old, was intoxicated. He is being held in the Stearns County Jail on criminal vehicular operation charges. A passenger in the Humvee was also jailed for failing to cooperate with authorities.

Chief Deputy Bruce Bechtold related that the teen was on his way home from his job in St. Cloud. The victim’s identity is still being withheld. The drunk driving crash is under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
